Golden Gate is an interactive work that investigates private and public space. An enclosed area was created that is reminiscent of a confessional, where the participant is invited to kneel in front of an alter and eat snack food. A camera and microphone were placed inside the space. The image and sound produced by the participant were projected outside the space. The image taken by the camera was put through software I developed with the help of Barbara Lattanzi, which transformed the participants image into a golden outline of their features. The software responds to movement which adds a dramatic glow to the background image of a metallic disk, as the participant moves and consumes in the space.
